EMMY MALIS
GRAPHIC DESIGNER & ILLUSTRATOR
WHO AM I?
At twenty, I quit University. Why? To gain real-life experience.
Eventually, I got work as a Design apprentice in London. After a couple of years - and many tube rides later - I went solo.
In Norwich, I declared myself a Freelance Designer - then COVID-19 happened. Regardless, I have been exceptionally busy and have loved (almost) every minute!
WHY I DO IT
Design is the best way that I know how to express myself.
At school, my favourite subject was graphic design and it was then that I found out that it was an actual job!
Knowing it was possible to have a career doing what I love, I made that my goal.
I love that design is a never-ending journey with so many specialisms and much to learn.
I find so much joy in creating something, bringing either my creative vision, or someone else’s to life through the power of visuals.
Brand design is of particular interest to me, as it’s like creating a design baby and you get to pick and choose what it's personality is and how it looks. Bringing an idea to life and seeing the joy on someone’s face when they see their vision become a reality, is something that will never fail to excite me.
